Spuyten Duyvil (pronounced "SPITE-en DIE-vil") is an Americana powerhouse rising rapidly through the Northeast music scene. On February 7th, 2015, they bring tightly crafted songs, stellar musicianship and soaring vocal harmonies to Landmark On Main Street. With Spuyten Duyvil, every performance is a barn-burning romp through the last 100 years of American music. The New York Times describes their music asRaucous roots”.  The Huffington Post calls them "a mighty powerhouse...channeling straight honky tonk country one minute and drug-addled mystical blues the next.  All the playing is hot."

The band's busy 2014 tour featured performances at The NY Mets Plaza Concert Series at Citi Field (formerly Shea Stadium), The Philadelphia Folk Festival,  The Brooklyn Folk Festival, The Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, The New Bedford Folk Festival, Caramoor's American Roots Festival, Music Mountain, The Sandywoods Center for the Arts in RI. and Lincoln Square Winters Eve Festival NYC.

Their appearance at Landmark On Main Street comes as the band prepares for the March release of their latest recording project, "The Social Music Hour Vol. 1". A love letter to Harry Smith's "Anthology of American Music", the new CD wraps traditional songs with a tapestry of blues tinged Americana, acoustic folk and roots rock. Their 2013 CD “Temptation” (http://www.spuytenduyvilmusic.com/p/music) quickly reached the #2 song and #7 album spots on the International Folk DJ Chart and broke in to the Top 20 of The Roots Music Report Airplay Chart Top 30 of the Roots 66 Airplay Chart. Spuyten Duyvil’s first release, “New Amsterdam” (2011) received a “Top American Roots Album 2011” nomination from The Alternate Root TV and placement on a dozen radio DJ “Top Ten” lists.
Carsie Blanton last appeared at The Landmark on Main Street opening for Shawn Colvin.  This young rising talent hails from New Orleans and summons a voice that channels some of the greatest female singers, be they elder stateswomen such as Bille Holiday and Nina Simone or contemporaries like Norah Jones.
"She is a rare talent as a modern songwriter, her sly wit and urbane imagery reminds one of a female Cole Porter.  She paints a vivid landscape with lyrics that are deceptively conversational and at the same time surprisingly perceptive for a relatively new artist."  John Oates, Hall & Oates

Toby Walker  has been hailed as a roots music fingerstyle guitar wizard who has toured the US, England, Wales, France, Germany, Belgium and Holland.  Blending the styles of blues, ragtime, country, bluegrass, rock and old time jazz into his own unique style, Toby has won national and international acclaim, featured in the New York Times, The London Times, the London BBC and Sirius-XM radio.  He was the 1st place recipient of the International Blues Challenge Aware - solo division -- given out by the Blues Foundation in Memphis TN.  The talent, passion and soul of a Toby Walker performance also tells the humorous and heartwarming tales of other masters.  Talking about inspirations, or astounding you with his mastery, his performances are a feast for the senses.
"Flat out...you have to hear this great musician...I'm blown away" - Jorma Kaukonen
