Spuyten Duyvil is an Americana powerhouse rising rapidly through the vibrant Northeast music scene. On July 25th, 2014, they bring tightly crafted songs, stellar musicianship and soaring vocal harmonies to The Dance Hall in Kittery ME.

With Spuyten Duyvil (pronounced "SPITE-en DIE-vil"), every performance is a barn-burning romp through the last 100 years of American Roots music. According to Delarue of New York Music Daily, the band plays "an exuberantly original take on classic Americana that draws on influences from the 70s on forward, from outlaw country to newgrass to folk-pop... They’ve got a sense of humor, sizzling instrumental chops and catchy tunes."

Their appearance at The Dance Hall follows a rockin’ 2014 Spring tour, featuring stops at The New Bedford Folk Festival, Caramoor American Roots Festival in Katonah NY, The Spring Gulch Folk Festival in PA, The Brooklyn Folk Festival and a live concert for The Alternate Root's "EP" Concert Series to be broadcast on Alternate Root TV.  The coming weeks include stops at The Philadelphia Folk Festival (3rd appearance), The Falcon Ridge Folk Festival (5th appearance), Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs NY (3rd appearance) as well as debuts at Music Mountain/Falls Village in CT, WNTIStage in NJ, and Sandywoods Center for the Arts in RI.

The New York Times describes their music asRaucous roots”.  The Huffington Post calls them "a mighty powerhouse...channeling straight honky tonk country one minute and drug-addled mystical blues the next.  All the playing is hot."

Since it’s release in October,  Spuyten Duyvil's CD “Temptation” (http://www.spuytenduyvilmusic.com/p/music) quickly reached the #2 song and #7 album spots on the International Folk DJ Chart and broke in to the Top 20 of The Roots Music Report  Airplay Chart Top 30 of the Roots 66 Airplay Chart. Spuyten Duyvil’s previous release, “New Amsterdam” (2011) received a “Top American Roots Album 2011” nomination from The Alternate Root TV and placement on a dozen radio DJ “Top Ten” lists.
