Spuyten Duyvil is a husband-wife led, 6 member powerhouse whose original alt/trad sound wanders the last 100 years of Roots music and explodes off the stage with infectious energy.

After a break out debut at the 2014 New Bedford Folk Festival, Spuyten Duyvil brings it barn-burning roadshow to the Sandywoods Center for the Performing Arts in Tiverton RI. The show caps off a standout summer tour that featured stops at Citi Field (formerly Shea Stadium) for The New York Mets Plaza Concert Series, The Brooklyn Folk Festival, The Philadelphia Folk Festival, The Falcon Ridge Folk Festival,  Caramoor American Roots Festival and shows in Maine, DC, and NJ. In the fall, the band heads out to Chicago and Northern California.

According to Delarue of New York Music Daily, the band plays "an exuberantly original take on classic Americana that draws on influences from the 70s on forward, from outlaw country to newgrass to folk-pop... They’ve got a sense of humor, sizzling instrumental chops and catchy tunes." The New York Times describes their music as “Raucous roots”. The Huffington Post calls them "a mighty powerhouse...channeling straight honky tonk country one minute and drug-addled mystical blues the next. All the playing is hot."

On Aug 8th, Spuyten Duyvil hit number #1 on the Reverbnation Americana Charts in NYC. On the Aug 11th, WXPN named Spuyten Duyvil one of "Five Artists to Discover" at the Philadelphia Folk Festival. Since it’s release in October 2013, Spuyten Duyvil's CD “Temptation” (http://www.spuytenduyvilmusic.com/p/music) quickly reached the #2 song and #7 album spots on the International Folk DJ Chart and broke in to the Top 20 of The Roots Music Report  Airplay Chart Top 30 of the Roots 66 Airplay Chart. Spuyten Duyvil’s previous release, “New Amsterdam” (2011) received a “Top American Roots Album 2011” nomination from The Alternate Root TV and placement on a dozen radio DJ “Top Ten” lists.
