 NOVEMBER 19TH | 8:00PM
TICKETS  $20 ADV. / $25 DOOR

“These immensely talented, well-schooled musicians deserve to be heard far and wide – they restoreth thy soul.” Elmore Magazine

Spuyten Duyvil's husband-wife team Mark Miller and Beth Jamie Kaufman are thrilled to debut at Ethical Brew in support of a more peaceful and civil society, a cause close to their hearts. The show will feature songs from their International Folk Music Awards 2015 Album of the Year nominated "The Social Music Hour Vol. 1", a self-described love letter to Harry Smith's iconic "Anthology of American Music".

This 12 song collection features 'essential traditional songs' popularized by Mississippi John Hurt, Elizabeth Cotten, Big Bill Broonzy, Woody Guthrie, Lead Belly and more 'arranged by the band for today's listener'.
In addition to the nomination, "The Social Music Hour Vol. 1" received a lot of love including airplay on over 250 US and International stations and rotation on SiriusXM's The Village.

In concert, the six-piece Hudson Valley-based band charges the air with traditional jug band energy, soaring vocals, high octane fiddle, vintage tenor guitar and Chicago-style blues harp. Their return to New Jersey follows a packed summer touring schedule that included NYC's Rockwood Music Hall Stage II, main stage sets at Israel's Jacob's Ladder Festival, Vermont's Roots On The River Festival, Caramoor's American Roots Music Festival, Massachusetts' New Bedford Folk Festival, The Connecticut Folk Festival, The Great South Bay Music Festival and The Philadelphia Folk Festival.

“This is as close to a musical "Come to Jesus" moment as you'll get outside the gospel roots of the deep south. Yonkers, NY based Spuyten Duyvil are the real deal when it comes to roots revivalist Americana music. Historians, outstanding songwriters, accomplished musicians and a musical family atmosphere converge to make some of the most outstanding music around today.” - The Alternate Root TV
